Located less than 20 miles south of downtown Denver, the suburb of Littleton, which takes up about 14 square miles, is rich with history, outdoor amenities, cultural presence, school accolades and overall charm. While being the 20^th most populous incorporated city in Colorado with around 42,000 residents, Littleton has a small-town feel with a big-city location.

The city was incorporated in 1890 and named for Richard Little, an irrigation engineer from New Hampshire who came to Colorado in 1862 to be part of the 1859 Pikes Peak Gold Rush. Much of the original history has been preserved in the old downtown area and has attracted many local merchants, unique restaurants and small businesses. The annual Western Welcome Week – started in the 1920’s – continues today with over 40 events benefitting local, civic and charitable organizations.

With views of the Rocky Mountain foothills just a few miles to the west, Littleton offers easy access to Colorado’s unparalleled outdoor scenery and activities. The South Platte River – providing fly-fishing, kayaking, tubing and wildlife viewing – runs centrally through town and there are 1400 acres of parks and open space (including Chatfield Reservoir and State Park) with miles of trails for walking, running and biking – even a 100-acre dog park! You can also catch the conveniently located RTD Light Rail, which will take you just about anywhere you want to go in the greater metro area.

Cultural and entertainment attractions include the beautiful 30-acre Hudson Gardens and Event Center, home to outdoor concerts, weddings and picnic grounds as well as the Littleton Museum, Town Hall Arts Center, Fine Arts Guild and the Littleton Symphony Orchestra. Littleton also boasts 5 breweries including the newest 76,000 square foot Breckenridge Brewery and farm inspired restaurant.

Not only does the Littleton School District (including 13 elementary, 4 middle, 3 high school and 2 charter schools) have the lowest dropout/highest graduation rate in Denver, it also maintains an “Accredited with Distinction” recognition and all three high schools have been featured in “Best High Schools” by US News, Newsweek and 5280 Magazine. Little is also home to Arapahoe Community College and Denver Seminary.
